Tim Burton is an American film director, producer and writer who studied character animation at the California Institute of the Arts. By the time Burton started his most famous movie, Batman, in 1989, he had already made Beetlejuice a year earlier and

Frankenweenie 4 years before. 3 years after making Batman he directed its sequel, Batman Returns. Since the success of Batman Returns, he has directed and produced other imaginative movies including Planet of the Apes in 2001 and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory 4 years later. While filming the latter, he also produced Corpse Bride.

Finally, he didn’t make the creative remake of Alice in Wonderland until 2010. The cast of actors for Burton’s movies often includes his wife, Helen Bonham Carter, and his longtime friend, Johnny Depp. The soundtracks to his movies have nearly all been produced by another friend, Danny Elfman.
